Rules for visitors
Outer garments should be left at the cloakroom.
Large items are not allowed to be brought into the museum, including bags,
briefcases, backpacks, umbrellas and liquids and drinks in any type of
container. Please leave these items in the museum's cloakroom.
Food at drink may only be consumed in the cafe.
Smoking is not allowed in the museum.
Please do not use mobile phones in the museum display areas.
Photography and video recording at temporary exhibits, the exhibitions
of the Treasure Gallery, the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory
and the Restoration and Storage Center Staraya Derevnya is prohibited.
Flash photography and the use of lighting equipment are prohibited.
The museum entrances are equipped with metal detectors.
If, for medical reasons, you cannot pass through the metal detector, please
inform a member of the security staff.
The ticket control area is equipped with turnstiles.
The admission ticket gives you the right to enter the museum through the
turnstile only once.
There are special entrances for visitors with children in prams and for
visitors with wheelchairs.
Taking photographs and videos in the museum
To take amateur videos and photographs a special ticket must be bought
from the museum ticket office. A sticker is provided with this ticket
which should be stuck on your clothes until the end of your visit to the
museum.
Flash photography or the use of lighting equipment is not permitted.
Commercial video and photography, distribution or publication of photographs
of State Hermitage exhibition items is only possible with the permission
of the museum's management.
